CLASSIC AT THE GOLDSTAR

Felixstowe & Walton United had not met Stowmarket Town in a league match in over a decade and a Felixstowe league record attendance of 452 was there to watch a classic. Stowmarket were 3-1 up with half an hour to go but The Seasiders fought back and Dan Davis nicked the winner with 3 minutes left to play.

This was both side’s first league match of the season and Felixstowe already find themselves 9 points behind early Premier Division leaders Coggeshall Town. The SeedGrowers, ineligible for the FA Cup, made it 4 wins out of 4 after an impressive 3-0 Friday night win at Brantham Athletic. Jamie Shaw scored a brace.

Gorleston, 5-1 victors over Saffron Walden Town, Haverhill Rovers and Newmarket Town are other sides yet to drop a Premier Division point.

Despite retaining their 100% record by coming from behind to beat Team Bury 2-1, Woodbridge Town found themselves dropping to second in the First Division table following Holland FC’s 10-0 drubbing of luckless Needham Market Reserves. Steve Eaton and Tom Holdstock both grabbed hat tricks. Level on 9 points with Holland and Woodbridge are Whitton United, who got a late winner against Downham Town, and Wisbech St Mary.
