Thurlow Nunn League First Division sides did rather well in the FA Vase on Saturday with no less than eight winning their ties and only three losing. Six of those victories were against Step 5 opponents – Norwich CBS, Whitton United, Halstead Town and Holland FC all knocked out Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division teams while Framlingham Town beat Waltham Forest from the Essex Senior League and Woodbridge Town overcame former Vase winners Hoddesdon Town. Debenham LC scored two injury time goals to eliminate Brimsdown and Swaffham Town hit 6 at Stewarts and Lloyds to complete the octet. Holland FC and Norwich CBS were making their debuts in the competition.

Premier Division Histon, Great Yarmouth Town and Hadleigh United also went through against teams from other leagues while Coggeshall Town won at FC Clacton.
