ECL Chairman Peter Hutchings along with Thurlow Nunn’s Divisional Used Car Manager Matt Grimmer presented Stowmarket Town’s Chairman Neil Sharp with the Performance Award for the months of December and January. The award is presented to the team with the best average points per game over the period and is sponsored by Thurlow Nunn. As well as the presentation plate Stowmarket were given a cheque for £150 and able to nominate a charity to receive another cheque for £100.
The club’s chosen charity is the “George Woodward Fund”. George is a very special little lad, who has been diagnosed with a serious spinal disorder – SMA Type 2 affects motor neurons in the spinal cord, eventually leading to severe disability. George will need a seemingly endless list of specialist equipment throughout his life. The player accepting the cheque on behalf of the charity is Scott Marjoram, who is George’s uncle.
